More than once since having this printer I have been in a situation where I'm pressured for time and it will not print. If the color cartridge is low it will not print black. The color runs out after only a couple of prints. If you scan an item that has color it prints color whether you need color or not. If you have this printer you must ALWAYS keep extra cartridges on hand or you will find youself facing a deadline and up a creek.
