My expensive Canon printer is dying so I dragged out my 10 year old 2000p - unused in a decade. I printed a test page on plain paper. To my amazement it printed perfectly. I printed some photos on good paper, worried about matching and calibration. To my double amazement results were far better than the modern Canon. Then the ink ran low (hardly a surprise) and I replaced the cartridge with one bought in year 2000. Perfect. I am gob-smacked at the reliability and quality. Two stars for speed though - it never was very fast.
Nowadays I'm loaded up with Win 7 and had to run the 2000p under virtual XP to use the old drivers. Epson would be doing a favor by updating the old drivers etc for Win 7. It was a great machine 10 years ago and it's a great machine today.
