-- HP D1341 DeskJet Printer

Bought this with my computer almost 3 years ago. I use it for b/w, occassionally color, mostly just papers for school and general text printing.

I'm gentle with it.

It broke in the first year (may have been first 6 months) and was under warrenty so I called Hp tech support and after spending about 2 hours on the phone with a tech from India they said they would send me a replacment printer if I were to mail them my broken one. The Indian tech had her 'supervisor' call me to get a credit card number explaining that in case they didn't receive my broken printer, they would charge me the cost of a new printer.

I was leary of giving out my credit card # but after 2 exasperating hours on the phone I just wanted to get it over with. I gave them a credit card # for a card I had stopped using (an Amazon Visa I hadn't used in about a year and was planning to cancel when I had time to call). I never received the postage sticker to return my broken printer but oddly, I did start receiving fradulent charges on the Amazon Visa credit card # I gave them. The charges were in Orange County Calif. I cancelled the credit card and wasn't charged for the fraudelent charges. I did receive the replacement printer and it just broke tonight.

I'm done with HP products.

The ink cartidges are expensive (I only bought the Hp cartridges). Print quality was okay. I never tried photos. I was printing text for the most part. It's lightweight and doesn''t seem well made.
